1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Lumina Pulse collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our website, mobile experience, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: email address, display name, password hash, and authentication tokens.
  • Astrological profile: birth date, birth time, and birth location you provide to generate your natal chart.
  • Content you create: journal entries, community posts, and saved readings.
  • Subscription & payment data: plan tier, billing status, and renewal dates. Card details are collected and stored by our PCI-compliant payment processor; we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Communications: messages you send to support and notification preferences.
  • Usage data: device and browser type, IP address, pages visited, and interactions, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, and personalize your readings and Service experience.
  • Process subscriptions, trials, renewals, and taxes.
  • Send transactional emails, security alerts, and (if you opt in) notifications.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Improve the Service through aggregated, de-identified analytics.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where required by law, we rely on one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract with you, your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf (payment processor, cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics) under written confidentiality and data-protection terms.
  • Legal and safety recipients when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Lumina Pulse, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., tax and accounting records).

7. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, and database row-level security policies that scope data access to your account. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Export a portable copy of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, email support@luminapulseapp.com. You can also delete your account at any time from Settings.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users & Data Transfers

Lumina Pulse is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other jurisdictions where our providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, to opt out of "sales" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not engage in either), and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. To submit a request, email support@luminapulseapp.com.

12. European & UK Rights (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. The data controller is the legal entity identified at the top of this Policy.

13. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management, and limited first-party analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; doing so may affect Service functionality.
